Below you will find photos from our 2009 picking, a picking made possible only by the ongoing support of our friends! We largely pick and press the varieties separately so we can offer extra virgin olive oil by variety and careful blend.
Picking in 2009 as the previous year was spread over 3 weekends. The crop was less than last year, with some fruit showing the effects of the dry autumn despite the deluge that followed in May.
First Weekend – Saturday
Tree climbing skills come in handy.
Sorting twigs from the olives before crating. Be careful not to bruise those olives!
First Weekend – Sunday

Second Weekend – Saturday
Olive picker’s lunch on the second weekend, Saturday.
The birthday pair. You guess the ages and whose birthday was the day before and the day after.
Boy racers with a pimped Ford? Or just putting the nets away at days end?
Second Weekend – Sunday
Picking Picual olives. Our Picual have been great. No vigorous growth and consistent cropping.
More picking. A Japanese exchange student (on right) helps out.
Third Weekend – Saturday
Picking the Frantoio on the third weekend, Saturday.
Lunch on the third weekend, Saturday. Our biggest group yet?
Third Weekend – Sunday
